With a busy schedule, it can be tempting to skip meals — especially if you have kids you’re always thinking about feeding first. And while you may think that one less meal during your day could actually be beneficial calorie-wise, it can damage your metabolism and cause you to get intense hunger pangs… which can then lead to reaching for whatever’s convenient, even if it’s totally unhealthy and not what you’d usually eat. It’s a vicious cycle, so try not to get stuck in it!
For me, it’s really important to have an easy-to-prep meal on hand for days when I just don’t have time to think about what to eat, especially for breakfast, and even more important now that I have two kiddos to look after. I’ve found that smoothies are the best meal replacement option — they’re so easy to make and pack a lot of nutrients into a cup you can take with you anywhere.
