These $23 Faux Leather Pants are a Must-Have | Girl with Curves

As someone who wears lots of jeans and leggings, especially over the past few months while spending so much time at home, I’m excited to see the faux leather trend become a staple for fall. Not only are faux leather leggings and pants a great, elevated alternative to basic leggings and denim, but they’re surprisingly wearable, as they dress up and down quite easily and work for various occasions!

I found this version at Walmart, and they’re quickly becoming my favorite pant. They’ve got tons of stretch which makes them ultra comfortable, and they’re extremely versatile too! I was honestly shocked at the super affordable price tag for this fabric quality and craftsmanship. In fact, I was so happy with the legging that I bought this pant as well, and love them just as much, since they function as a pant, but are just as comfy as a legging.

Paired with a heart print sweater, denim jacket and sneakers like I’ve done here, faux leather leggings are a great go-to for casual days. I threw this look together for a quick trip to the grocery store and love how it came together. The casual texture of the denim, sweater knit and white sneakers dress the leather down in a way that still feels polished but practical for running errands. For another casually comfy option, you can pair them with a tee and cardigan, like this. I’ll definitely be wearing these faux leather jeans for date nights paired with peplum sweaters and booties in the coming months!

MODA OPERANDI: THE PLATFORM WHERE YOU WILL DISCOVER FASHION October 15, 2019 at 07:06PM

Michael Lo Sordo Spring-Summer 2020 Trunkshow Moda Operandi

I want to start with the following – before diving into the world of “Fashion Discovery” because Moda Operandi is, after all, the platform for Fashion Discovery – Moda Operandi is the only online platform that offers straight off the runway pre-ordering. This means that we as customers can make sure to actually get our hands on the most-wanted, most-coveted, and ultra-trendy pieces that everyone wants to wear next season. This is an extremely smart and exciting way to shop, but of course, you’ll need to be confident about what’s going to be “hot” next season, and above all, you’ll need to have the patience for it to arrive, because it’s not a next-day delivery situation. Your next season’s person will get to you, but only just before the new collections hit the stores…

The way to be ahead of the pack, and order next season’s best pieces, is through Moda Operandi’s many “Trunkshows”. These trunk shows arrive pretty much right after the new collections hit the runway, or when their new season lookbooks come out – this is usually for the brands who don’t show at fashion week.

On top of being able to pre-order the latest collections – something that clearly sets Moda Operandi apart from most other online retailers – is the incredible curation of designers, and buy. You will find pieces on Moda Operandi that other online retailers aren’t offering, and they will bring you the most promising and loved new and upcoming designers of the moment.

A good example of a designer I already knew and loved – and was able to pre-order straight off the runway – and a designer that I didn’t know existed, yet fell in love with right when I saw their new lookbook are Alessandra Rich and Michael Lo Sordo.

Alessandra Rich is a long time favorite of mine; the combination of classic designers, but with a little twist – naughty but nice – have always appealed to me, and she does amazing evening wear, as well as knits and accessories. Below a little selection of some if the best looks of her Spring-Summer 2020 collection.

Michael Lo Sordo is a designer from Australia I discovered on Moda Operandi, mainly because his Spring-Summer 2020 looked so beautiful. A collection of super sophisticated and feminine pieces, in a earthy tone palette, simple or some with a little funny accent. See below some of his best looks, and you will understand what I mean!

A list of designers that received raving reviews on their Spring-Summer 2020 collections, are available for Pre-Order right now, AND are some of my favorites are, but not limited to: Hunting Season and Giambattista Valli. And some of the best under $500 are I think Christopher Esber and Rokh. And last but not least, and influencer collaboration everyone loves: Gia x Pernille Teisbaek.

However, those of us who aren’t a 100% sure about what will be “IT” next season, and want to shop what is most-loved right now, those are able to shop the extremely well curated list of designers on Moda Operandi. Enjoy!

Real Talk: My Husband Went Vegan and I Lost Weight October 15, 2018 at 12:45PM

via Girl With Curves https://ift.tt/2pSTDC7

When I was in the final stretch of pregnancy last December, Dave decided to go vegan. He had been doing tons of research on health, wellness and how both relate to food for several months, and while I knew the day was coming, to say I wasn’t prepared for the actual transition is a huge understatement. My initial reaction was ANGER!

I was angry because not only was food one of the many ways we bonded and nurtured our relationship, through dinners and launch dates. But I was majorly pregnant, hormonal and always HUNGRY. So what was I going to eat, while he cut out meat, eggs and dairy?! And how was I going to manage cooking now 3 meals, since Narayan already rarely ate what Dave and I would eat, so now I would be making an extra alternative for my husband, too?! And how in the world was our relationship going to survive this big of a change?!

The first couple of months were hard. Even after I had the baby and my daily cravings for my favorite restaurants had settled down to a reasonable couple of times per week vs twice per day like when I was pregnant, I couldn’t fully wrap my head around the fact that my husband – a man who ate anything and everything, was no longer eating meat and dairy. He lost weight pretty rapidly, first 20, then 35, and now 45 almost 10 months in.

While the initial change was hard to swallow, Dave’s lifestyle change actually helped our entire family adopt better eating habits, especially me. He started helping more in the kitchen, and he turned out to be an amazing cook, finding creative ways to not only incorporate vegetables into most of our regular meals, but he also found vegan alternatives for some of our favorite meals, like tacos, replacing ground chicken for tofu (sofritas). And when I wanted to eat out, he would find options he could still enjoy from our favorite places.
