How to Make Self-Care a Priority April 30, 2018 at 12:45PM

via Girl With Curves https://ift.tt/2vYxV5t

We’ve all had periods when we’ve felt completely overwhelmed, whether it’s because we’re overworked at the office or adjusting to a new life phase, as I’ve been doing lately with two kids in tow. Burnout usually happens when we have a lot on our plates, and the idea of slowing down seems out of the question, but that’s exactly when we need to focus on self-care the most!

When you give most of your time and energy to other people and responsibilities, it’s more important than ever to give the same time and energy back to yourself.

Here are my personal tips for making self-care a regular part of your life. Once you make it a priority, don’t be surprised if you see many positive shifts in your life, health, and mindset!

WMBW Reviews – Allen Young Shirts A shirt’s a shirt’s a shirt right? Well, for the longest time I certainly thought so. That’s the main reason why I’ve stayed away from doing shirt reviews till now. I always wondered how one shirt could be different to the next? I mean, I know that the cut makes a massive difference, and of course the collar and cuff details, but these are all such individual details that what works for me, may not exactly work for you. However, every now and then, something comes along that changes the game, something that makes you think “Why didn’t someone think of this sooner?” When the team at Allen Young asked me to review their shirts, I was again sceptical – This was of course, until I took a closer look at the details. The sales pitch is simple: One shirt gives you endless options with personalised collars and cuffs. Like I said, simple and like most simple things, its also genius! The mechanism is pretty simple. Each collar (and cuff) has multiple button holes that line up to buttons on the collar and sleeve of the shirt. To replace one, you just unbutton it and button on a new one. That’s pretty much it, to be honest – I feel like this blog post is done! For those of you not yet sold, let me point out the obvious benefits of the system. At its base level, it really extends the life of your shirts. The first thing to wear out is often the collar and cuff so having the option of replacing them definitely gives your shirt a couple more years in the closet. On top of that, your replacement collars (or cuffs) can change the look of your shirt entirely, from a spread collar and double cuff to a club collar and rounded cuff…or the other way around, or even the other, other way around. It’s pretty much a thousand shirts in one really – that may be a gross over exaggeration but you get my point. For me, the massive benefit was the contrast collar. I love a contrast collar on a shirt, but really struggle to find them. In fact, I’ve only ever found 1 that fits me and it’s a classic blue stripe white collar…very Wall St circa 1987 – not that there is anything wrong with that, if it was good enough for Michael Douglas and his Motorolla brick, it’s good enough for me! I loved the fact that this system allowed any shirt in the Allen Young collection to have a contrast collar and or contrast cuffs. I even managed to get myself a club collar with holes for a collar pin – something that is literally impossible to find anywhere. I also liked not having to always use the contrast cuffs (that most contrast collared shirts come with) it definitely helps give the shirt a more contemporary feel. Finally, (and this is practicality at its best) when it comes time to wash the shirt you can unbutton the collar and pop it in with your whites to stop it going dull and grey. Have I said the word ‘genius’ yet? Lastly, I love that even without a collar attached you have a mandarin collar that actually fits your neck rather than drape somewhere around your collarbone. Again, this is something I often struggle with so it really stands out for me. I think its fair to say that I totally love this product. I love not only the simplicity of the idea but also how practical it is. Since these shirts landed on my doorstep I literally haven’t stopped wearing them (as you can tell from my IG account), they fit perfectly and the collar options make me think I’m wearing a new shirt every time I leave the house. It’s pretty freaking awesome. If you need three new shirts but can only afford one, I suggest you take a look at Allen Young (Heeeeyyooo…they should make that little rhyme their slogan!) If you’re based in New York, then I think it’s worth making an appointment for a customised fitting and fabric selection to take your personalisation to the next level. Okay. Stay fancy.       whatmyboyfriendwore

SHOES SHOES SHOES: 3 STYLES WE ALL NEED THIS SPRING April 27, 2018 at 02:19PM

via THEFASHIONGUITAR https://ift.tt/2Jy4dpE

CHARLES & KEITH Official Spring-Summer campaign with Charlotte Groeneveld from Thefashionguitar.com

Fashion Month lies far behind us, and we are all dosed up on inspiration, so it’s time to rethink our wardrobe and start strategizing on the spring-summer pieces we ALL NEED! Let’s start at the bottom with – and work our way up – our most favourite part: shoes!

Without any doubt, pointy footwear is STILL HOT. No show this Fashion Month suggest we need to divert away from this trend, it’s gave us more options such as the never-really-been-away-but-love-to-call-it-comeback kitten heel. Personally I can relate both of the above, and have no objection whatsoever in wearing either of those two, but this might not be the case for you. Therefore I teamed up with CHARLES & KEITH – the Singapore born, internationally raised footwear brand – and to make your life easier we created the “Shoe must-have” list for this Spring!

So the two trends we focussed on are the low heel – or kitten heel – and the ever so stylish pointy nose. Both trends I adore, but as I mentioned, maybe not – yet – your cup of tea, and for that I’m showing you how to wear these trends.

We were lucky to have had a few warm days in New York already, so the looks I’m wearing are actual spring appropriate looks, and will definitely help you to dress from day-to-night, office to dinner, and drinks to dance party!

No matter if you are the minimalist, or the girl who loves to wear colour, you will be 100% ready for spring investing in these shoes!

For my first look I’m wearing CHARLES & KEITH sunglasses, bag, and of course, shoes. I paired it with a Balenciaga oversized shirt, and a Designer’s Remix skirt. To me, this is the ultimate happy summer look for both city or country life!

The second look is way more urban, and great for colder summer days, or early summer mornings, when a cold breeze rules over before the sun warms it up. I’m wearing CHARLES & KEITH slingback heels in the perfect nude, which goes great with an all-denim look (the jacket is Balenciaga, jeans Gucci, and sunglasses Celine).

For the last look I channeled my inner-minimalist. I’m usually not really minimal in my looks and styling, but for these shoes, and the super sophisticated design of the bag, I felt I had to. Here’s where CHARLES & KEITH does best, their styles are so easy to combine, and make even the most simple looks so much more interesting. I’m wearing CHARLES & KEITH kitten heels, and bag, with an oversized mens trousers from Suit Supply, with a Tomas Maier shirt, and Celine sunglasses.

Dior Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear worn by Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar in Los Angeles

Last year I went to Los Angeles for the first time. Can you imagine! I really hadn’t been, and I couldn’t be more excited. What was even more exciting, though, was that I would be there for the Dior Cruise 2018 show, which was again a first for me. In the middle of “nowhere” – because that’s how it felt – but in reality, in the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve in Calabasas to be precise, Maria Grazia’s first Cruise collection for Dior walked down nature’s purest runway. You remember, right? Well, I do. It was unforgettable, and ever since, I’ve been secretly praying I would be able to witness such a spectacle before… Well, Cruise 2019 season is about to start, and there’s a lot waiting for us…

Starting with one of our favorites: Chanel. The iconic French brand will be showing their 2019 Cruise collection in Paris, and reside in the luxurious Ritz hotel for the week. Dior, the brand that blew our minds with last year’s desert destination – read above – will be setting foot in the French historic Chantilly Stables – just 30 miles from Paris – for their new Cruise collection. Both Louis Vuitton and Gucci will be also be showing their Cruise 2019 collection in France, however, Prada chose a more urban location: New York.

Rumor goes that I will be taking you with me to two of the Cruise shows this season… Can you guess which ones?

My Move West

via Wide Eyed Legless https://ift.tt/2qXxWkw

It has officially been 4 months of living in the sunny state of California, so I wanted to give you all an official update on how the move went!

So as you all know, at the beginning of this year, I got my own place! To be honest, it was a huge step for me as it was the first apartment I rented that was 100% my own, and let me tell you, living alone is a strange and beautiful thing.

When I moved in it was a completely blank slate and I have had such a fun time bring it to life (apartment tour post coming soon, I promise!) The best decision I made in my move, apart from deciding to get my own place, was to hire movers to help me get there in one piece! I worked with a local Minneapolis company called Day Makers Moving + Storage and they were a complete dream to work with. It meant so much to me to know that my belongings were in safe hands as I journeyed my way west.

So in honor of being in California for 1/4 a year, I put together this dreamy little video for you all on a recent trip to Joshua Tree. I hope you enjoy!

MY PASTEL OBSESSION April 24, 2018 at 04:34PM

via THEFASHIONGUITAR https://ift.tt/2qYnxVs

Versace Tribute Collection Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar

Funny enough my obsession with pastel – and pink in specific – didn’t start Yeats ago, when I was a little girl and as one would expect, being pink all the way. On the contrary. As far as I can remember, I never had a thing for it, really, until maybe two years ago. Pastel pink became “millennial pink” and suddenly it was everywhere. Brands created whole brand identities around it, pink walls became essential to interior designers, and I hadn’t seen as many pastel pink collections ever on a runway. And until today, I am, and I feel confident saying we all are, still very much obsessing over it. It’s not over, and I feel it’s going to be here to stay…

Even more, so I found out, pastel pink – or millennial pink – in combination with other pastel colors, such as yellow or baby blue are just rad. Other than you might expect, it doesn’t make you feel like an Easter figure in the wild, but it lifts your mood, and makes you look rather sophisticated. But I do understand that this is a lot for some of you, and don’t worry, that’s okay, too. However, if you feel only the slightest appealed to what I’m wearing today – YES this is part of the Versace Tribute Collection, and it’s so retro – you should definitely try. Maybe the pink is not for you, but how about a baby blue suit, with soft pink slides? Don’t you think that could be cute, right! Trust me on this one –  if you don’t want to go all the way, combine it with your favourite pair of blue jeans – and you will embrace spring as you have never before. Let the sun shine!

How To: Build A Transseasonal Wardrobe Of all the things that are chilling on my #blessed list this week, not sweating from my face takes the cake. Thanks to our pal global warming, summer stuck around here in Australia well past its use-by date, and while that means extended beach swims and an increased opportunity to eat ice cream guilt-free, it also means that I haven’t been able to properly crack open my transseasonal wardrobe yet. A tragedy, given that the in-between seasons are my favourite months for dressing (and just for living, in general). Correspondingly, my entire Instagram story is stuffed with the cries of New Yorkers who, until very recently, were still up to their eyeballs in snow, blizzards and winter clothes. Uh, weather? It’s almost the end April—wtf is going on? That all changed when I checked the weather app this morning. While it seems counterintuitive to jump for joy when you see the temperatures dropping and the number of sunny days depleting, that’s exactly what I found myself doing. The human brain works in strange and mysterious ways! Goodbye summer, hello 75% of my wardrobe!  While I’m sure we can all agree that the in-between seasons are the best, sometimes it can be awkward getting dressed when the weather is in a state of flux. During these finicky transitional months, it’s not uncommon to experience four seasons in the space of one day, making getting dressed each day a bit of a ~nightmare~. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered below with our comprehensive guide to getting dressed when the weather isn’t quite sure who it is…  Blazer, Vintage (Similar) | T-shirt, Armani Exchange Mens (Similar) | Pants, Jac + Jack Don’t Underestimate The Power Of Stockings Stockings can flip the switch on an outfit, taking it from summer to winter approps, quicker than you can open your weather app. Conundrum: The skirt you wore all summer (and have grown creepily attached to) now exposes your goosebump-riddled legs to the elements. Solution: Stockings! The same can be said for warm days that bleed into cold nights—wear your warm weather-appropriate outfit (be that a slip dress, t-shirt and skirt, or pair of dungarees) to the office/day-time activity, then throw on a pair of stockings as you dance off into the night. Hot tip: Coloured stockings are currently having their 15 mins of fame and are a super cute way to stay on-trend without traumatising your bank account. If brightly-coloured tights aren’t your thing, maybe patterned tights—which pair well with Carels and mini skirts—are more up your alley? If neither of the above are simpatico with your vibe, there’s nothing wrong with a classic pair of black 50 denier stockings (they’re thick enough to keep you warm, but sheer enough that they communicate “I am très chic” and not “I work at a library”).  PSA: Cardigans Aren’t Just For Grannies “Cardigans are back and you heard it here first” — Jai Kaldor, COH Editorial Assistant, 2018. She’s not wrong. We’ve already stolen their pearls, and now we’re coming for our grandma’s cardigans (just kidding, G Ma, we’ll buy our own, but thanks for the #inspo). The real MVP when it comes to transseasonal dressing, the humble cardigan will go with everything from your dependable vintage-inspired jeans to your trusty black trousers. Tuck them in to your pants and pair with a constellation of your favourite necklaces for a strong lük. Top, Bassike (Similar style) | Pants, Levi’s 501 Acquaint Yourself With Puff Sleeves  To ensure you don’t pass out from boredom while getting dressed in these transitional months, mix things up with interesting silhouettes. Puff-sleeved blouses are the best way to add volume to your look, given that they will simultaneously make you feel like you’re a Victorian-era lady and your mum in the 80s. Remember, Midi Length Skirts & Boots Are MFEO Dance the line between femme/masculine AND winter/summer, with a midi-length dress and a pair of knee-high boots. While they’re both #trending at the moment, I’m willing to bet a sizeable sum they’ll both be in our collective psyche for the long haul. If the weather starts to err more on the icy side of things, add a light coat to your look, and if the days are heating up, opt for a shorter sleeve dress. Also, if boots that cuddle your knees aren’t for you, cowboy boots and ankle boots also work a treat. Blazer & Trousers, Vintage Dolce & Gabana (Similar) | Top, Etsy (Similar)  Blazers Are Your BFFs While you patiently wait for the day to arrive when you’re able to reconnect with your favourite winter coats (can’t wait, trenchy), I’ve got but one word for you: blazers. Whether pinstriped, black, grey, or plaid, blazers will have you lookin’ sharp as a tack, and will provide enough warmth to stave off those in-between-season-induced goosebumps without overheating when you step inside (or if the weather decides to surprise you by going full summer on your butt). And, why stop there? Suits have been putting the ‘suit’ in suitable transseasonal clothing since before we were born, and no wardrobe is complete without one.  Invest In Good Basics  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: good basics are worth their weight in gold. They are your wardrobe’s infrastructure, and without them, you will find it terribly tricky to build a viable transseasonal wardrobe. Good quality t-shirts, masculine-inspired trousers, linen jumpsuits, and classic blue jeans are all a must. Top, Uniqlo | Dress, Bec & Bridge Learn To Love Layering Not that I’m suggesting you aspire to becoming an ogre or an onion or anything, but if Shrek taught us anything, it’s that both things are layered, and layers are a good thing. This especially rings true in the context of getting dressed: wearing multiple layers is kind of like receiving multiple hugs all-day-long. The key to layering is that you should be prepared to take some layers off if the weather goes full bat shit on you, or failing that, ensure that the layer closest to your skin is very light and breathable. Layer a light turtleneck under your favourite evening slip or wear your favourite vintage t-shirt with a long-sleeved shirt underneath and a denim jacket over the top.  Protect Ya Neck Forgive me for going full overbearing Mum on you, but I just wanted to circle back on turtlenecks for a hot minute, because it is very important that you keep your neck warm in these breezy months. Eschew heavy materials in favour of slim-fitting, light cotton turtlenecks that can slip seamlessly under your button-up shirts or pair perfectly with tweed shorts and ballet flats. If you’re turtleneck adverse, you can always keep the area north of your collarbone toasty by way of a high-neck blouse. Saks Potts lilac fur by Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar

These photos were taking in Paris during last Fashion Week, and to be honest, I wouldn’t think they would apply anymore to the – usual warmer – weather this time of year in New York… However, I was wrong! Today, on a beautiful Saturday morning, one which the sun is shining, kids are playing baseball in the park, and outdoor spaces are officially open, it’s so freaking cold!! I literally want to wear nothing else than hip and comfy leggings, oversized knits, and big BIG coats – like this Saks Potts one for example – that keep me warm! So we now just have to find the right coats for the season and pretend we’re not freezing cold, because after all, it is Spring!

When to Toss Your Beauty Products April 20, 2018 at 12:45PM

via Girl With Curves https://ift.tt/2qSfbyX

A lot of people wait until the New Year or spring to refresh their products, wardrobe, or living space, but I think fall is actually the perfect time to do it. You don’t have any major holidays to distract you from doing a thorough cleanout, and the weather is cooling off, so you’ll be spending more time indoors anyway. Why not use that time to see what you should keep and toss?

When I tackle fall cleaning, the first thing I like to focus on is my beauty bag. Because we use makeup products everyday, it’s easy to forget that they may have passed their expiration dates. Especially with more expensive makeup, t’s tempting to ignore the little label that says “6M” or “12M” (with M standing for months the product is good after you open it), but it’s important to pay attention for two reasons: The product may not be effective anymore and it may actually have bacteria breeding in it that can cause stys, breakouts, and other gross stuff you don’t want anywhere near your face!

To make sure you’re on top of your product expirations, mark the containers with the dates you opened them and schedule some time every few months to do a quick scan to make sure everything in your collection is current. Here’s a chart of some important expiration dates, so you have them handy:

MOTHER AND CHILD: A PORTRAIT OF MODERN MOTHERHOOD April 19, 2018 at 07:44PM

via THEFASHIONGUITAR https://ift.tt/2F2emse

"Mother and Child" by Claiborne Swanson Frank featuring Charlotte Groeneveld

Last summer, on one of the warmest days of the year, the four of us spent time at the most amazing house just one hour outside of the city, to shoot our part of the “Mother and Child” book, by Claiborne Swanson Frank. Not only did I never met this amazing woman, photographer, and mother, but also little did I know about her work. Shame on me, because evidently this is one very talented human, and it was only a matter of time before I ordered “American Beauty” (2012) and “Young Hollywood” (2014).

For her latest book “Mother and Child”, Claiborne explored what motherhood means in the 21st century, by capturing 70 iconic families of mothers and children from celebrated names such as Carolina Herrera, Aerin Lauder, and… ours. You can only imagine how extremely honored I am to be part of this, and to have these stunning portraits will we were “creating memories that last forever”. To me, motherhood brought meaning to my life. Nothing else in the world matters more than my children, and they make me want to be a better person every day. What you see here in front of you captures exactly who I am: A loving and caring mother, and a woman who cares about the way she dresses. Which I’m not ashamed of, and will always remain, as long as I have my children by my side.

Make sure you take a look at the all the images I’ve posted here today, the day of the official book launch in New York! I’ve added a link at the end of the post where you can order the book, but even better: I decided to buy a few extra and give 3 of you one for free!

The only thing you have to do to enter this giveaway is leaving a comment below with your name and email address, and tell me in a few lines what your favorite childhood memory is! I’m looking forward to reading your comments!

PSA: Calvin Klein’s New Denim Collection Is On Fire Family comes in all forms. We’re super #blessed that our work fam here at COH is as chill as we are tight-knit, especially given that we spend way more time with each other than we do with our ~actual~ biological fam (still love you, mum!). When it comes to creative ideas and personalities, we go together like wine and Friday afternoons (aka flawlessly). Nothing you see on the site is the work of just one person—when we’re not throwing ideas around the room like a never-ending game of frisbee, you can catch us messaging each other on various communication streams (some convos relevant to work, others not so much…. Shhh).     So when we first laid eyes on Calvin Klein Jeans’ Spring denim collection, #OurFamily knew what we had to do. Inspired by the efforts of all the crews that had come before us—the Kardashian’s and the A$AP Mob, among them—we took their latest denim collection out for a spin, and fast fell in love with every single piece in the process. There are even subtle nods to the RTW runway collection and we’re not even mad about it. Fact: Spring 2018 Calvin Klein Jeans is the perf addition to wardrobes everywhere. Proof: these images images feat. a few members of our team.     The post PSA: Calvin Klein’s New Denim Collection Is On Fire appeared first on CHRONICLES OF HER. Carmen Hamilton

The Queen has been ‘hit hard’ by the death of her last remaining corgi

Meghan Markle’s £171 bag is about to fly off the shelves

Next season’s cult bag is already on every fashion editor’s wishlist

Braces or Belt, Never both How loose are your pants? Are they so loose that you need to be double sure they don’t fall down? Braces hold your pants up, belts also hold your pants up. If you’re struggling with either, then you probably just need smaller pants. I see this mistake all to often, and excuse my French but it is a major fashion faux pa – You thought I was gonna say fashion fuck up didn’t you? I would never : ) Locally there is a little joke which goes something like this “You know it’s a South African wedding when the groomsmen are wearing braces and a belt”. I mean, sure, it’s not that funny (at all actually) but it really drives home my point. Pick one guys, just one! To avoid confusion, and to be clear, this rule applies to suspenders and braces alike. Yes, there is a difference, so let me show you what that is. The images above shows a pair of braces. Braces attach to your pants with buttons and are usually made of leather or cloth. Dating all the way back to 18th Century France braces were an undergarment made of ribbon that attached to the buttonhole of your pants – sounds comfy. Modern-day braces as we know them were designed in the 1820s’ by Albert Thurston as a way to keep your pants at an exacting height. High-waisted pants were the fashion of the day and unfortunately, belts just weren’t cutting it…or should I rather say, ‘belts were letting them down’. Heyyyooo. Bazinga! It wasn’t till metal clasps were invented in 1894 that braces could be clipped on rather than buttoned. Not only did this mean that pants no longer had to come with buttons sewn in the waist but it also meant we would now get confused between braces and suspenders for the next 120 years. The images above are suspenders. Suspenders are attached to your pants via a metal clip. This is unless of course, you are British. To the Brits, there is no distinction between the two and ‘suspenders’ are something ladies use to hold up their stockings. Go figure. Either way, this little mancessory can bring a bold look to your outfit! I mean it did a hell of a job for Larry King right? I’m a big fan of going belt-less, but if your pants don’t fit you perfectly you just find yourself constantly pulling them up – This is where braces come in handy. Personally, I’m a big fan of braces, I just prefer the neatness of the button in variety – Pants don’t usually come with buttons sewn in anymore, but any tailor can sew a couple of buttons in quick stix. The best thing about braces is that they are mostly hidden and reveal a nice surprise when that jacket comes off. Like I always say…the devils in the details. Now, don’t worry if you didn’t know the difference between braces and suspenders before reading this. Before writing it, I didn’t know the difference myself. In the end, I’m pretty sure you can get away with calling them either or, just please don’t wear them with a belt. Okay. Stay fancy. whatmyboyfriendwore

5 Instagram Brands That Make Getting Dressed More Fun Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s all make room in wardrobes/hearts for some cute new purchases—courtesy of our good friend Instagram—shall we? Since our office spends a combined 229284 hours of the week trawling the ‘gram, adding to our saved folders and double tapping our lives away, we were always bound to bump into cute new brands here and there. Lucky for us/you, we’ve been stumbling upon new brands at an *alarming* frequency of late.  I recently took a lengthy sabbatical from Instagram (for reasons that are too ~involved~ to type here). While I suppose I gleaned a few invaluable lessons from this period of abstinence, the months spent living under a rock proved to be a real test in sourcing inspiration (not to mention a real exercise in boredom *yawns*). How I managed to get dressed is anyone’s guess, and that’s maybe why I sustained some very serious scrolling-induced RSI upon my return. Distance truly does make the heart grow fonder. And a fond heart doth a fantastic new wardrobe make.  But enough about that. Behold, the 5 brands the COH team found on Instagram this week that have made getting dressed an infinitely more exciting task…  @loiel_official L O É I L If you like nice things, then LOÉIL is 100% money-back guaranteed to tickle your fancy. Their clothing is both very on-trend—think cowl neck dresses, structured suits, and kick-flare trousers—and classic enough to last the test of time. Come for the pastel hues, and stay for the clothes that will make you feel like a goddamn queen every single time.   @delicateporcelain DELICATE PORCELAIN Your bank account is gonna thank you for this one, since Porcelain specialise exclusively in t-shirts, hoodies and tote bags that are as cute as they are affordable. Pair your new tee or hoodie with sneakers and baggy jeans for a look that lets everyone know you are chill but know what’s up, or throw on a beret and trousers for a look that screams pure low-key sophistication. Très bien. @shrimps SHRIMPS  A label whose goes by the name of Shrimps was always going to be a good time, so it should come as no surprise that I pretty much declared every single piece on their site my new wardrobe BFF. With ribbed hems, ruffle-trimmed necklines, beaded bags, faux-fur and little pops of colour, you are destined to be the cutest girl in the room every single time with Shrimp. @lianaclothing LIANA Um, did I just spot the trackie dacks of my dreams? Yissss I did. Outside of encouraging me to keep on shlepping around the house at every chance I can get (but way more stylishly than before), Liana is serving up other kawaii af basics like box tees made of terry towelling and cute striped singlet tops. As the saying goes, be the cute girl you wish to see in the world. @nicole_saldana NICOLE SALDANA Holy heel. Every other shoe brand to ever exist, Ima let you finish, but Nicole Saldana has some of the best shoes of all time! Of all time! If the featured shoe (the Sarah slide) isn’t the most perfect foot accessory you’ve ever laid eyes on, then Bob truly must be my uncle. Sculptured heels came in like a wrecking ball at the close of last year to bash block heels off their throne, but Nicole just took it to new ~heights~ with her masterful assemblage of pvc, suede and silk shoes. We’ll take on of each please (and two pairs of the Sarah in Blue PVC, for good measure). POWER REDS with Rag & Bone

via Wide Eyed Legless https://ift.tt/2H6Z4bz

Red somehow continues to maintain its presence in all things fashion, specifically my wardrobe. And to be honest, I don’t see that changing anytime soon. It’s the color of power, passion, adventure, and love. It’s hard to not feel good when wearing it!

I have been looking for the perfect red blazer for quite some time now and jumped at the chance to style rag & bone’s newest one. I have been a fan of rag & bone for years now. Their pieces always end up being the perfect effortless staples that I end up wearing daily. And while a red blazer might feel like a bit of a trendier piece, I actually think it is a total wardrobe staple.

A read blazer adds just the right amount of drama to any look. Think about it, a head to toe red outfit is incredibly chic, or styling it with your favorite vintage t-shirt (like I did here) makes for an easy look with the perfect amount of rock and roll.

I also made sure to style my look with a very cool, no-hem, rag & bone jean as well as their suede messenger bag! A perfect spring/summer look if you do ask me.

Shop their new collection and my favorite pieces below!

Giambattista Valli by Charlotte Groeneveld Thefashionguitar

It’s been absolutely way too long since my last post, since I really took the time – or I should say HAD THE TIME – to write something here on Thefashionguitar.com… I notice that my lack of time, in combination with the lack of clicks to my website, made me sloppy. I didn’t go the extra – exhausting – mile anymore, which was good for a while, and gave me some room to breath, but at the same time it really pained my heart. Because deep inside I know, I would never want to let go of this beautiful place: the website where it all started. The website that I put blood, sweat, and tears in to make in something, from NOTHING… So, here I am, making you a huge promise – that I intend to keep – that from today onwards, we will get back on track, and get back to you here with stories and beautiful imagery. Slowly. At the end of the day… this is where I can show you all, and this is where you will find it…

For now, dive with me into this New York Giambattista Valli fairytale and tell me what you think of the new “Cool-girl” sneakers of this spring – styled by ways of me; in combination with the most beautiful gown on the planet!
