The first look at Emily in Paris season two is going viral

Ooh la la!

Emily in Paris first burst onto our screens in 2020 and the reception was divisive to say the least.

The US comedy drama sees loveable Chicago marketing executive Emily Cooper relocate to the French capital to offer an American perspective at a Parisien marketing firm.

Think every Paris cliché – croissants, berets, macarons, Champagne heiresses, handsome chefs, midnight walks under the Eiffel Tower – all packaged into 10 picture-perfect episodes starring Lily Collins.

It was a resounding success and despite some backlash (particularly when it picked up two Golden Globe nominations), even those who claimed to hate the show have admitted to secretly being addicted.

No one was remotely surprised therefore when Emily in Paris season two was confirmed.

So, what can we expect from part deux? Here’s what we know so far…

Emily in Paris season two trailer

The first sneak peek of Emily in Paris season two has officially been released by Netflix, and if its anything to go by we can expect berets, Champagne and a lot of Instagramming.

This comes after the cast created their own video to announce that season two was happening, with the tagline, ‘Deux is always better than un’.

Emily in Paris season one trailer

Emily in Paris season two announcement

Netflix announced that Emily in Paris was coming back for a second season in November 2020 with a hilarious post. The streaming site announced the news as a funny email by Emily’s company Savoir, breaking the bad news that she has been forced to stay in Paris a little longer.

‘We are writing to regrettably inform you that Emily Cooper will need to remain in Paris for an extended period of time,’ read the memo from Emily’s boss, Sylvie. ‘Despite her overconfident manner and lack of prior experience in luxury goods marketing, she has nonetheless managed to charm some of our hard-to-impress clients during her short time at Savoir. Call it bonne chance, or American ingenuity – I’m leaning towards the former – her results are impressive. We hope that by extending her time in Paris, Emily will further the relationships she has already made, delve deeper into our culture, and perhaps pick up a few words of basic French.’

Emily in Paris season two release date

The latest trailer of Emily in Paris season two confirmed its release date and there’s not long to wait. The show’s second instalment will be landing on December 22.

Emily in Paris season two cast

The whole main cast is returning for season two. Lily Collins will of course be stepping back into Emily’s colourful Louboutins, joined by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel and Camille Razat as Camille. Also returning are Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc and William Abadie as Antoine.

Emily in Paris season two guest stars

While the old cast will be returning for the show’s second instalment, there will also be some brand news faces joining the Emily in Paris team.

Lucien Laviscount will be joining the cast as Alfie, ‘a 30-year-old, London-born, sarcastic charmer who refuses to immerse himself in French culture and instead prefers a pint at an English-speaking pub,’ as per Entertainment Weekly. Also coming onboard are French actor Arnaud Binard as Laurent G, a nightclub owner, and Jeremy O. Harris who is set to play fashion designer Gregory Elliott Dupree.

Emily in Paris season two plot

With plenty of loose ends to tie up – namely the love triangle between Emily, Gabriel and Camille, we can safely make a few assumptions regarding season two’s plot. Plus, luckily for everyone, show creator Darren Star spoke about his plans for season two before the show was renewed for a second instalment.

‘In season 2, she’s going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in,’ he explained to OprahMag.com. ‘She’ll be more of a resident of the city. She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.’

Lily Collins added, via E! News: ‘I don’t know about season two yet, but I think Emily has some surprising tough choices. The show’s so much about the culture undermining her expectations of how things are and how things seem. And everything will not be as it seems. It’s always about challenging her American worldview. We certainly have a lot of forks in the road and a lot of places to go.’

Emily in Paris season two fashion

The fashion in Emily in Paris has unsurprisingly been one of its biggest talking points, with legendary costume designer Patricia Field taking the wheel. Having previously worked on Sex and the City, it is easy to see how people saw the Carrie Bradshaw inspiration in Emily’s colourful couture wardrobe. It has been revealed however that the designer was chiefly inspired by the 1951 film, An American in Paris.

Where was Emily in Paris shot?

Emily in Paris season one was filmed entirely in Paris, with a few scenes shot in the Loire Valley nearby, the location for Camille’s family chateau. Season two is in production and according to reports the filming will take place in Paris and Saint-Tropez.

How do you pronounce Emily in Paris?

A viral tweet from Netflix last year informed us all that we had been mispronouncing ‘Emily in Paris’. Taking to social media, the streaming platform tweeted: ‘Friendly reminder Emily in Paris is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent so “Emily” and “Paris” rhyme.’

Emily in Paris award nominations

Emily in Paris picked up multiple nominations over award season, something that prompted backlash. Most notably, the controversy surrounded the show’s nomination for a Golden Globe when I May Destroy You and Insecure – two pieces of critically acclaimed black art – were snubbed in the same category.

So far Emily in Paris has been nominated for two Golden Globes (best actress and best television series), a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding comedy series, four MTV Movie awards and a Critics’ Choice Television Award.

We will continue to update this article.

À bientôt!

Prince William's sweet comment about Prince George is going viral

The Cambridges are one of the most talked-about families in the world, and while the Duke and Duchess spend the most time in front of the cameras, it’s their children that really steal the limelight.

From Princess Charlotte’s signature sass and Prince George’s cheeky grin to Prince Louis‘ love of cuddling, these toddlers never fail to make news.

The family of five has made the most headlines this week with regards to animals following a recent outing by the Cambridge couple.

During a tour of Northern Ireland last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stopped by Ulster University’s Magee Campus and its petting zoo, KidzFarm. It was during the visit that the couple revealed that their house is full of animals.

It was a comment from Prince William about his eldest son George that made the most news, as the Duke exclaimed while holding a snake, ‘George is going to be so upset’.

As he held the snake and Kate Middleton handled a tarantula called Charlotte, he added: ‘The children are not going to believe I did this’.

It was during the visit that the Cambridge couple also opened up about their own pets, with Kate telling one of the workers: ‘We’ve had lots of animals during lockdown. Animals are often like therapy.’

Prince William was reportedly quick to chime in, adding that the family of four had ‘lots of chickens’.

Well, this is lovely.

I am obsessed with these two long-lasting make-up products and they're about to change your life too

Game changers

Life-proof make-up deserves to be shouted about more often.

What I mean by this are products that when you apply them in the morning, you don’t have to think about them again all day. Products that you trust so implicitly that you don’t actually give them another thought once they’re in place.

Make-up that stays put all day is actually the most requested product recommendation of my friends. So I am beyond pleased that this weekend I tried out two new long-lasting make-up products that have quite honestly changed my life for the better.

First up is Milk Makeup’s new Hydro Grip Eye Primer. I’m not normally one to use a primer (it’s laziness by the way, not because I don’t think the best primer is worth it), but after initially testing it out during my Put your make-up on with me Instagram Live chat with Milk Makeup co-founder Zanna Rassi, I was seriously impressed and wanted to give it a proper try.

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Eye Primer, £22 | Cult Beauty
Doesn’t matter if you’re using powders or creams, pop this on ahead of your best concealer and eyeshadow in the morning and and I am telling you that they’ll still be in place at the end of the day. It feels silky smooth on the skin, which makes applying make-up a dream. Inside is hemp-derived cannabis seed extract and hyaluronic acid, which keep the eye area nice and hydrated (which helps with the staying power).

View Product

My other new favourite product is Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Shot Caller. I’m always super sceptical about long-wearing lipsticks that claim to be transfer, budge and smudge-proof. However, here I stand on a Monday morning completely corrected.

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Spiced Collection Liquid Lipstick in 325 Shot Caller, £9.99 | Boots
Over the weekend I applied this lipstick, took my toddler swimming and then ate a curry and I am telling you it looked perfect afterwards. I now have such faith in this lipstick that I could apply it in the morning and leave the tube at home. It’s matte, highly pigmented so packs a punch, and the applicator is slightly pointed to allows for precise application. It’s definitely one of the best red lipsticks on the market right now.

These products have changed my life, and I promise they will change yours too.

Princess Beatrice’s newborn daughter Sienna has a surprising meaning behind her name

https://ift.tt/3a1Lt1p

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

The Royal Family announced that Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi had welcomed a daughter two weeks ago, but kept us all waiting when it came to unveiling the littlest royal’s name.

Unlike Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who announced the name of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, alongside the news of her birth back in June, Beatrice and Edo chose to delay their baby name announcement until Friday, when they finally revealed that they’d called their first child Sienna Elizabeth.

In true millennial royal style, the news was announced by the Royal Family in a statement on Instagram, alongside a photo of the newborn’s footprints. “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have named their daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. The couple have said, ‘We are all doing well and Wolfie [Edo’s son from a previous relationship] is the best big brother to Sienna.'”

Edo shared a similar post on his personal Instagram page, captioning the same picture of his daughter’s footprints, “Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Our life together has just begun, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us.

“Feeling so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, baby Sienna and Wolfie. These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying….that with every child you grow a whole new heart.

“A massive thank you to the Midwife and the amazing team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.”

In keeping with tradition, the newborn’s middle name, Elizabeth, pays special tribute to her great-grandmother, the Queen. But according to a source close to the couple, the royal baby’s forename is actually a sweet tribute to her grandmother, Sarah, the Duchess of York.

“They were looking for an Italian name which started with an S for Sarah, to honour the Duchess [Sarah Ferguson], and also reflected the golden rust colour of both the Duchess’s hair colour and Beatrice’s, which the new baby shares,” the source told Hello!

That is lovely. Sending our congratulations to the happy couple.

Everything you need to know about the botox ban

https://ift.tt/2Wzc1nu

From today, botox and fillers are banned for under-18s in the UK, here’s the low-down on the new legislation

People under the age of 18 will not be able to get dermal fillers or botulinum toxin injections – that’s botox by the way – from today after the passing of the ‘Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act’

What does the ban mean?

From 1st October, it’s illegal to administer botox or fillers to under-18s unless the treatment has been approved for use by a medical practitioner. This means that young people cannot have these non-medical procedures for aesthetic reasons.

The government estimates that 41,000 botox-style procedures were carried out on under-18s last year and analysis from the Department of Health and Social Care says that 29,300 dermal fillers were administered to this age group in 2017. Often these non-medical procedures are carried out by people with a lack of training and in unhygienic environments, putting young people at risk of health complications.

On the legislation, Millie Kendall MBE CEO at The British Beauty Council, says: “We supported pushing the bill through parliament. 70,000 young people under the age of 18 are seeking aesthetic treatments each year. We need to control this. These procedures are not just a lipstick or a mascara, they can be a permanent alteration to a person’s face at a time when they are not fully grown physically and emotionally.”

lip injections

Image courtsey of Getty Images

Why has it come into place?

Unlike breast enlargements and facelift operations, which are highly regulated for patient’s safety, the non-surgical cosmetic industry is still highly unregulated. This means that people who are not medical professionals can carry out botox or fillers – we’ve all heard of botox parties.

More and more young people have been accessing these procedures over recent years in the hope of achieving an ‘Instagram-face’. Although the industry has introduced some self-regulation – thanks to the Keogh Report – young people could get injected by beauticians, dentists, even their friends as long as they could get hold of the needles and fillers.

“This legislation has come in to protect patients from themselves and to stop poor practice,” explains Dr Daron Seukeran, Group Medical Director at Skin Clinics, a medical skincare clinic group that offers services from anti-ageing injectables to acne treatments. He continues: “The paediatric population is highly regulated throughout medicine but this was becoming blurred within the aesthetics industry. The new legislation is accepting that there is a group of young people who can be vulnerable to making the wrong decisions.”

Thanks to the likes of Instagram and Tik Tok, young people are feeling the pressure to be picture-perfect all of the time, and to them, a quick filler seems like it could do the trick. Lisa Oxenham, Beauty and Style Director at Marie Claire says: “No one could have predicted the catastrophic effects of social media filters on the youth of today. The increased pressure to adhere to beauty standards is forcing young people to turn to cosmetic procedures when they aren’t fully developed. This new legislation is a step in the right direction for safety within the UK’s aesthetic industry.”

botox syringes

It’s naivety towards possible risks, lack of research into good practitioners and the fact that young people will probably go for the cheapest option that is leaving them with ulcers, bruises or reactions that can ruin their lives. “The CPSA is 100% for the legislation as we support anything that cleans up the industry and sets guidelines,” says Tamara Griffiths, founding member of the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority and Director of Education at the British Association of Dermatologists. “Young people are particularly blinkered to potential side effects of these procedures and they are part of the cohort of cosmetic patients who are particularly vulnerable,” she says.

Why is this only the first step towards a safer industry?

Despite being a huge development towards a safer cosmetics industry, medical practitioners and leading voices in the beauty industry are still calling for more to be done. Griffiths explains: “The CPSA are continually pushing the industry in the right direction and we want to ensure that the members of the public don’t trivialise these procedures. They can be very safe when carried out in the right hands, but people should make sure that their practitioner is experienced and qualified.”

Thanks to the work of the CPSA and other regulatory bodies that set out standards and expectations, this is becoming easier and easier. By working with cross-sector groups, these bodies are working to create a register of practitioners who follow safety guidelines, however, it is not compulsory for people to sign up for this register. This means that many people are still practising unsafely.

Millie Kendall MBE says: “The British Beauty Council will continue to campaign for wider industry regulation. It is not easy to get bills through the parliamentary process but we must continue to protect people of all ages and our industry’s reputation.”

This useful advice on what women should do if stopped by a policeman is going viral

https://ift.tt/3kZYBKH

In the wake of Sarah Everard's murder, women have been left scared of the very people who are supposed to protect us.

policeman with handcuffs
Sarah Everard: Women advised on how to act if stopped by a policeman

Yesterday, 48-year-old Wayne Couzens was handed a whole-life sentence for the brutal kidnap, rape and murder of 33-year-old Sarah Everard. It emerged in court this week that Couzens, who was a serving officer in the Metropolitan Police – but wasn’t on duty – at the time of the killing, staged a fake arrest as a means of luring Sarah into his car.

After having driven around for hours looking for a lone woman as his victim, Wayne Couzens pulled over and stopped Sarah Everard under the false pretence of enforcing COVID lockdown rules. After showing her his warrant card, Couzens went on to handcuff the young woman, before putting her in his car and driving her to Kent, where the unthinkable happened.

Sarah Everard

The horror of this gross abuse of power has shaken the whole nation, and has led many women to feel unsafe around police officers – the very people who are supposed to be there to protect us. Putting themselves in Sarah’s position, many are now vocally wondering how they could tell whether a police officer stopping you is legitimate – yet another consideration women now have to make to ensure their safety.

In response to such questions, Making Herstory – an organisation that campaigns against all forms of abuse directly impacting women and girls, has published some advice on what women should do if they’re approached by a lone, male police officer. The information has proven so valuable, it’s going viral.

The guidance advises six invaluable steps for women to take in the event they are stopped for questioning or arrest by a police officer on their own:

  1. Resist arrest calmly and refuse handcuffs.
  2. Ask for a female officer/two other male officers to be called for. Should this request be denied, call 999 to submit the request for yourself.
  3. Do not enter any vehicle until additional officers arrive.
  4. If no additional officers are available, request the arresting officer to walk with you in public to the nearest police station.
  5. If signalled to whilst driving by a lone officer, drive on to nearest police station or a busy public area.
  6. Call family to let them know what is happening and where you are.

It’s devastating that we live in a world where a person who is supposed to enforce and uphold the law could be the one to break it so inhumanely. But we do. And while the onus should always, always be on men not to attack women, as opposed to women having to protect themselves from men, resources like this can be useful in helping us to feel less fearful when out by ourselves.

How to check your breasts for lumps, plus why it's not just lumps you need to be checking for

https://ift.tt/2WuSRyX

This Breast Cancer Awareness month, if you do nothing else: arm yourself with a step-by-step guide to checking your boobs.

How to check your breasts for lumps: A woman checks her breasts

If you’ve ever Googled how to check your breasts for lumps, you’re likely not all too clear on how to identify a cancerous breast lump.

Enter stage right, your complete guide: because too many people are still dying from breast cancer when it could be prevented. Each year in the UK, around 55,000 women and around 400 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. “It can affect any body, at any age,” shares Sophie Dopierala-Bull, CoppaFeel! education and health comms director. “We all have breast tissue, so it’s important we are all clued up on how to be breast aware.”

Not sure what being breast aware means? In short, it’s checking your breasts regularly and booking a doctor’s appointment if you notice any abnormalities – read our complete guide to the main breast cancer symptoms to be aware of, here.

Save you feeling overwhelmed, we’ve asked the experts at CoppaFeel to break it down for you into three simple steps. “Remember, you can use whatever method you are comfortable with and do it wherever you’re most comfortable – it’s all about making it part of your routine,” encourages Dopierala-Bull.

Don’t miss our expert-led guides to gynaecological cancer,  and the various skin cancer symptoms, while you’re here.

How to check your breasts for lumps: A checklist

How to check your breasts for lumps

Your step-by-step guide

1. Look

First up, rather than having a good old feel of your boobs and chest, have a look at yourself in the mirror. Answer the following questions:

  • Are your nipples looking the same as usual, or can you see puckering, dimpling or thickening?
  • Do either of your breasts look like they’ve changed in size, outline or shape?

Top tip: a mirror can help here. Why not try a handheld one – much easier to check out your under-boob and side angles, too.

2. Feel

Next up, have a feel of both sides of your boobs. This includes everything from the area around your armpit to your collarbone.

  • Can you feel any hard, angular lumps, or lumps of any kind?
  • Can you notice any skin changes, as above?

3. Notice your nipples

Finally, and as per the first point, have a long look at your nipples.

  • Can you see any nipple discharge?
  • Are either of your nipples bleeding?
  • Do you have any rashes around your nipples?
  • Do you have any crusting on or around your nipple area?

If yes to any of the above, do book an appointment with your GP. Better to be safe than sorry.

Help! I feel apprehensive checking for lumps

Know this – you are not alone in this feeling, but checking your breasts and being mindful of other breast cancer symptoms is vital for catching your cancer early, should you develop it.

“I always tell patients when they say that they don’t know how to examine themselves that there is no mystery to self breast checking,” shares Catherine Alam, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and CoppaFeel! Medical Advisory Group member.

“Just feel the breast tissue, including the nipple area and up to the collar bones, and don’t forget your armpits. It’s as simple as getting to know what is normal for you so that you notice when something changes.”

The following guidance may help reassure you.

1. The more you check, the more you’ll know

As with anything in life, the more you do something, the more familiar it will become and the more comfortable you’ll feel doing it. The same applies with checking your breasts and being mindful the less common breast cancer symptoms: get into a regular routine, and the rest will follow.

“Everyone’s boobs are different, so it’s important to start a relationship with your pair,” shares Dopierala-Bull. “Then you’ll feel confident to notice when something isn’t quite right for you.”

Bottom line: make it part of your regular self care routine. When diagnosed early, 98% of breast cancer sufferers will survive, compared with around one in four – that’s 26% – of those who don’t get a diagnosis until the last minute.

2. Be aware of all the symptoms

FYI, a lump isn’t the only sign and symptom of breast cancer.

“Many symptoms you might only notice by actually looking at your chest,” shares Dopierala-Bull.

And on the lump front – many breast lumps are actually perfectly normal, so make sure you know what types of lumps to look for (as per the Avera website, you’re looking for a rigid lump firm, angular edges – a soft or round lump is less likely to be cancerous. They should feel more like rocks than grapes).

Final thing – you boobs aren’t just the two round lumps on your chest. “Your breast tissue extends up to your collarbone and under your armpit, so check the whole area,” she advises. “Be aware of any changes in size, outline or shape and changes in skin such as puckering, dimpling, thickening or changes to your nipple, too.”

3. If in doubt, get checked out

Think you’ve spotted something out of the ordinary? “Monitor it for a week and contact your doctor if it persists, advises Dopierala-Bull.. “Early detection is the key to ensuring your breast cancer is treatable.”

Final thing? Don’t be shy about being breast aware – it really is essential for making sure you look after yourself. “I urge people now more than ever to be breast aware; to know what’s normal for them, report anything different and attend the NHS Breast Screening Programme when invited,” shares doctor Victoria Harmer, a breast cancer consultant nurse. “You are the expert of your own body – if anything feels wrong or unusual, please do report this to your GP.”

How to check your breasts for lumps? Sorted. Now spread the word.

The best concealer for dark circles, blemishes and more

https://ift.tt/3lpeU47

Hide dark circles and cover blemishes with the best concealer, designed to combat all manner of imperfections

woman applying concealer - best concealer

Whether you need to disguise pesky dark under-eye circles or hide the mother of all blemishes, the best concealer is an absolute must for your make-up bag.

Rest assured that there’s one out there to mimic eight hours’ of sleep, cover up breakouts or disguise redness, whatever your budget. So, what do you need to look for to ensure you get your perfect makeup match?

‘Not all concealers are made equal and not all of them will do everything,’ MAC Senior Artist and Glow Up judge Dominic Skinner explains. ‘Concealer is like a pair of shoes; you need different ones for different occasions. When choosing one, you need to ask yourself “what is it for?” and “where is it going?”. This will help you find your way through the forest of options.

Best concealers 2021:

  1. Best for dark circles: Rose Inc Softlight Luminous Hydrating Concealer, £23 | Space NK
  2. Best high street option: Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser Concealer, £8.99 | Lookfantastic
  3. Best for doing-it-all: Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer Duo, £28 | SpaceNK
  4. Best for dry skin: Glossier Stretch Concealer, £15 | Glossier
  5. Best long-wearing: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, £22 | Lookfantastic
  6. Best for spots: NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer, £24 | Cult Beauty
  7. Best for brightening under the eyes: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Illumination, £25 | Cult Beauty
  8. Best for mature skin: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Liquid Concealer, £24 | Charlotte Tilbury
  9. Best for angry red blemishes: Bareminerals Original Liquid Mineral Concealer, £24 | John Lewis
  10. Most skin-loving: Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer, £30 | SpaceNK
  11. Best for dehydrated skin: Armani Luminous Silk Concealer, £34.50 | Lookfantastic
  12. Best for full-coverage: Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer, £24 | Cult Beauty
  13. Best for covering it all up: Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer, £19 | Boots
  14. Most purse-friendly: NYX Professional Makeup Born To Glow Radiant Concealer, £9 | Cult Beauty

Concealer for dark circles

‘For under-eyes you need something that will set, like the MAC ProLongwear Concealer. This means it won’t sit in the fine lines and won’t start lifting your mascara. Which is what causes panda eyes at the end of the night. You might also need a shade that’s more pink or coral than your skin tone as this will help to banish those dark circles.’ Of course, the best eye cream will also help to treat dark circles and bags.

Something to note is that dark circles under the eyes are often hereditary, so you’re not going to get rid of them completely. However, Zoë Taylor, Chanel Make-up Artist, suggests facial massage before applying your concealer. ‘Lazy lymphatic drainage can really emphasise the problem, she explains. ‘Facial exercises are a huge part of any skincare routine, but don’t underestimate how much this can help with lymphatic drainage.’

She also says that: ‘Using one under the eyes is all about the light layering of products.’ She recommends colour correcting, then applying your foundation, before topping with your concealer. And blend each one into the skin with a very soft, fluffy brush.

And her final tip? Highlighter. ‘Applied with the tip of my finger and patted into the outer corners of my under eye, this is a great distraction from any of the fine lines in this area too.’

Concealer for acne

‘To conceal blemishes you need to go for one that has a more creamy texture,’ Dominic continues. ‘This will prevent the dry skin from around the blemish to crack and peel during the day. It’s best to go for one that is closest to your skin tone and I find that applying with fingers in a tapping motion works the best to camouflage the blemish completely.

‘For skin pigmentation and uneven skin tone, I recommend a liquid one as you can build up the coverage to a flawless finish. Plus, you can mix it into your regular liquid foundation to give it that extra red carpet finish. MAC’s Studio Fix 24 Hour Smoothwear Concealer is amazing, and a fashion week and award season staple in my kit.’ Pair it with a great hyperpigmentation treatment for maximum results.

Best concealer brush

Although some people prefer to use the ‘wand’ or tip of their concealer, a brush is recommended in order to ensure that you make the most of the product and get a nice, even finish with equal coverage. Size-wise, we suggest something like Bobbi Brown’s Brush, or the classic MAC 195 Brush. Alternatively, pat it into the under eye area with your ring finger – it’ll fit perfectly into the inner corner of your eye socket and under the lash line.

Colour correctors

Colour correctors work incredibly well alongside you concealer. As the name suggests they colour correct. So for example, if you have blue/purple shading under your eyes, it’s useful to use a peachy, orange colour corrector before your concealer.

If you have a seriously angry, red blemish, a green-tone colour corrector will take down some of the inflamed pinkish tone before you cover up.

Our favourites are MAC Studio Fix Conceal and Correct Palette, Revlon PhotoReady Color Correcting Pen for Redness and L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover  Palette.
