I’ve never been one for loungewear, but when RIXO launched its sleepwear and comfies line at the end of last year, I was sold.
There wasn’t a hoodie or jogger in sight, instead, designers Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey served up a collection of nighties and matching sets inspired by their favourite vintage pieces.
Now they’re back with their summer PJ and lounge offering, and it’s even better than the last. I should know, I tried it at home.
The new collection is all about ‘waking up happy’. Think silk cotton PJs for luxurious lazy-lie ins, frilly nightgowns for hot tea & toast in bed and colourful dresses to enjoy alongside your glass of fresh orange juice.
But it’s not just about starting the day off right, it’s about feeling good all day long, and these pieces, though labelled as loungewear and sleepwear, can easily be worn throughout the day.
Some pieces, like the Kendall yellow gingham dress above and floral slip dresses, could even arguably be worn out, for a summer picking or drinks at the pub.
The prints and details echo RIXO’s main collection, with frill collars, floral and exotic prints in an array of colours, as well as cute embroidered details.
Most of the pieces come as sets, but this is all about having fun, so don’t be afraid to mix and match, there are no rules here.
Floral set, launching soon. Shop similar: Vera set, £150
The collection is available to shop now, with prices starting from £65. The perfect antidote to jersey loungewear fatigue.
