But why?
The millennial royals are by far the most popular with the public, simply for the fact that they are relatable – they wear high-street brands, have a family WhatsApp group (yes, really) and are all over social media.
The latest royal family member to join the Instagram club is Mike Tindall, former rugby star and wife of Zara Philips, granddaughter to the Queen.
Mike already had a Twitter profile, boasting 156k followers, but it was announced this week that he was spreading his social media presence to Instagram.
And it gets better, because unlike the Cambridges and Sussexes who have to be careful what they post and keep it professional at all times, Mike will be following in the footsteps of Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, able to post throwback snaps and share funny moments.
Yes, we sincerely hope that this means a lot of family photos of his wife Zara Philips and their daughters, Mia and Lena.
Fans and followers were quick to point out however that Mike doesn’t seem to following any of the royal family on his new Instagram account, instead focusing on entertainment and sport pages.
Yes, Mike may not follow the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge or the Duke and Duchess of Sussex but he does follow Brian McFadden, Ant and Dec and Cristiano Ronaldo.
While it hasn’t yet been explained why this is, it is rumoured that Mike is trying to keep his family life separate.
