Saturn Returns

via Wide Eyed Legless https://ift.tt/2pYVypb

The other morning I woke up to the very real realization that my Saturn is returning. Never mind the two fresh pimples that so lovingly appeared on my face, IT was here. My entrance into full adulthood was finally here. I would now find inner peace and move beyond my childish mistakes of the past.

How did I know that it was returning? Well, while on a mindfulness retreat last winter at the stunning Miraval Resort, I had my birth chart read for the first time. And lo and behold right smack at the end of March it read Transiting Saturn Conjunction Radix Saturn AKA Your Saturn is Returning, so be ready.

Naturally, I texted a friend who I remembered posted a recent IG story about her Saturn returning, (“ITS HERE!”), only to realize that I am not exiting my return (like I assumed) but rather just starting it. BUT HOW. I mean, the last two years of my life have been complete chaos, how can I only be beginning this process?

Some of you might be asking yourself what even is a Saturn Return and why should you care. Well, in astrology terms every 29 years the planet Saturn makes a full cycle around the sun and returns to its natal position (meaning where it was when you were born). So for those of us born roughly from Feb 1989 to Feb 1991, the spotlight is on us. This first Saturn return (you can have up to three in your lifetime) is one of the most important times of your life. You are leaving behind childhood and reviewing your life through new more mature eyes. During this time your past comes under close scrutiny and you are being forced (whether you like it or not) to face life with this new found maturity.

This time marks a separation process, during which anything that no longer suits you and your purpose will be broken down, remolded or discarded.  Now is the time to work slowly but surely towards attracting the people and things that you want in your life, and taking on these new responsibilities because truth be told if you don’t now you will pay for it at your second Saturn return (hello mid-life crisis).

“Maybe everything you went through the past few years was preparing you to enter into this new phase of your life”, she patiently offered up. And I thought for a moment…yeah, maybe. I can actually buy that. If your Saturn return is a moment that helps you redefine your life’s purpose, it only makes sense that you clear out whatever doesn’t serve you to prepare the way for the new. Self-discovery and all. Luckily, my Saturn is in Capricorn which means “diligence, commitment and calm” so I think Saturn is actually just going to force me to find more of that, to make a commitment to the way I want to live and what I want to do. Out with the old, in with the new, or something like that.

two other great articles here and here!
