This New Film-Esque App Will Be All Over Instagram Soon We’ve come a long way since the Valencia-drenched and contrast-heavy Instagram pics of yesteryear. And thank gawd for that! If you were to take a stroll down the memory lane that is my hodgepodge Instagram feed—all the way back to its humble genesis in 2012—you’ll find some pretty profuse pictorial evidence that this was a terrible time for filters. Flash forward six years, and we’ve officially arrived in the age of The Huji Cam. For those unaware, this hot new app throws it all the way to back to the 90s, with photos that replicate your fave disposable camera pics. Cute! It’s free to download, the interface even looks like your trusty ol’ throwaway camera, and you won’t have to drop heaps of $$$ getting a roll of film developed. Win, win. Hot tip: tap on the view finder in huji cam to make it larger (so you don’t have to peer through the tiny hole, a la the golden old days). And, if you’d prefer to add the filter onto pre-existing photos, you can upgrade the app for the low, low price of $1.49. One thing is for dayyuuum sure, though: you’re about to see this filter all up and down your feed, so get in quick sticks before everyone else does.
