The Sussexes are going on sabbatical
It’s been a busy year for the Sussex family, what with welcoming their first child and attending various public engagements all over the world.
Most recently, the couple have of course undertaken a royal tour of Southern Africa, having to follow several royal tour rules in the process. A chaotic schedule for any couple, let alone one with a five-month-old baby in tow.
But we can all now breathe a sigh of relief on their behalf, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will reportedly take a six week break in the run up to Christmas, starting next month. Completely understandable, especially given that Meghan admitted she’s ‘not ok’ in a recent TV interview.
We’re also glad to hear that Meghan will be visiting her mum, Doria Ragland, during her and Prince Harry’s break. It’s thought that the timing means that Meghan and Harry will spend Thanksgiving with Archie’s grandmother, before returning to the UK to spend Christmas here.
This of course also means that Archie will be visiting the US for the first time! Adorable.
News of the couple’s break comes a few weeks after announcing they would be taking legal action against select UK publications.
‘I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces,’ Prince Harry wrote in a statement published on the Sussex Official website at the time. ‘I have been a silent witness to her private suffering for too long. To stand back and do nothing would be contrary to everything we believe in.
‘We thank you, the public, for your continued support. It is hugely appreciated. Although it may not seem like it, we really need it.’
Here’s to the couple enjoying some much-needed time off and putting their feet up for a bit.
