These Are The Body-Positive Lingerie Brands You Need To Know It wasn’t until a four-and-a-half year relationship ended that I first realised the importance of these body positive lingerie brands. While I should have been leaning into the ~single and ready to mingle~ vibe, I couldn’t have felt less sexy or confident if I tried. TBH, this was almost entirely owing to how comfortable I had become in my relationship, and therefore how much I’d slacked off in the lingerie department. Don’t get it twisted—when I say lingerie, I don’t mean sheer or latex garments only, I mean any sort of nice underwear, full stop. I would literally wear any ol’ undies from wherever I could be bothered to shop. Not my finest hour. Freshly single, and down for a big hit of self-love, I set off on a shopping spree to breathe some much-needed life into my undie drawer.  Within days of wearing my new lingerie, I felt 198934 times more confident in my own skin. I was more comfortable within myself (which definitely reflected on the outside) knowing that I had made the effort to do something nice for me, myself, and I. The lingerie had worked its magic.  It’s been a couple of years since I first had that realisation, but my dedication to filling my life/drawers with lush undies hasn’t passed. Rather, it’s only grown stronger. Because I’m all about spreading that self-love, and because I love to trawl the internet for pretty things (sue me), I’ve put together a few of my favourites below for you to shop for yourself. Some *cheeky*, some not—whatever you prefer, because when it comes to body-positive lingerie, it’s totally up to you to choose your own adventure.  PANSY Comfort is of high importance to me in the lingerie department (remember those old rags I used to wear?), and these boys are made out of organic cotton, which just screams comfort to me. The cotton is grown and milled domestically (within the U S of A) and designed and sewn locally, just down the road from the designer’s humble abode. Isn’t that just the cutest? To top it all off they’re on-point with every colour trend I ever did see. The bras are strictly “No padding, no underwire, just cotton and elastic”. Magical, right? On the bottom, you can opt between classic high rise and low rise options. Adorbs. ARAKS Araks make their lingerie out of 100% cotton, as well, as some styles that are pure silk. Wow. You can opt for their base range of classic cuts like the Antonia Bralett, or for all you adventurous lingerie lovers, spice it up with a touch of silk and sheer like the Tasia Bralett. Launched by Araks Yeramyan, the label’s aim is to “make women feel beautiful, beginning with the most intimate of layers, nothing else comes closer next to skin: it’s the very first thing a woman slips on in the morning, and the last to come off at night.” Too right she is! Oh, and they also offer cute sleepwear and swimwear. It’s your one-stop shop, really! LE PETITE TROU Le Petite Trou is a Polish brand that specialises mainly in lingerie, using the finest French and Italian materials known to mankind. Their underwear is made with the intention to make women feel especially sexy, And, I mean, just take a look for yourself! Personally I have already bought the Danielle and Anastasie, and my goodness, I feel like Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider when I wear them (minus the skin-tight onesie and weapons, of course). P.S. They also make SUPER CUTE shoes! P.P.S I also feel like Bridget Bardot circa 1962 when I pop on my set. PAR FEMME A brand we hold close to our hearts, Par Femme was founded by our two faves Ruby Heery and Mon Nakata. This local Sydney brand focuses on empowering women, encouraging us to take control and feel confident in our own skin.  The Par Femme line is packed with *must-have* perfect cotton rib loungewear and knickers. The COH team all own multiple PF pieces, with a mutual favourite being the Logo Embroidered Knickers. PF stocks an amazing assortment of other lingerie brands alongside their own, including to-die-for lingerie by Marieyat (more on that below) and classic go-to Lonely Lingerie, as well as the chicest adult toys on earth (which they strongly encourage women to use on the regular). AYTEN GASSON Woah, this one has been named The ‘Agent Provocateur‘ of eco-lingerie. Step all the way back, ’cause that’s a pretty hefty call (but on that is warranted!). This brand is not only as seductive as it gets, but is also on that sustainable bandwagon, using up-cycled vintage lace (from the UK where it is also hand sewn) and sustainable materials i.e. peace silk (which doesn’t kill the silkworm, unlike most silks). I think that makes it 100 times more sexier, and frankly I can’t wait to feel that harm-free silk on my booooday.   MARIEYAT No lingerie must-have list would be complete without a nod to the ladies behind Marieyat. Similar to Par Femme, Marieyat is all about empowering women through their ethically-made (by women, for women) undergarments. We’re all about brands that make cotton as sexy as lace, and there ain’t no one better than this London-based label. I personally died and went to lingerie heaven when I first slipped into my High Cut Island Briefs, because anyone who can make grannie panties desirable AF deserves a goddamn Nobel Peace Prize.
