Cute (And Co$t-Effective) Trends To Get On Board With RN I’m the laziest dresser I know. A creature of comfort. A slave to routine, if you will. My daily ‘OOTD’ (outfit of the day) for as long as I can recall has consisted of black pants and a tee, paired with a great pair of boots or sneakers. I looked great, sure, but this past year something came over me… The want and need to tsjuz up my style, update my look, and have a lil’ bit more fun with it all. It all started out with the great Bonds Chesty Resurgence Of 2017 (I still wear the same Chesty singlet I’ve had since I was 12—no word of a lie.) The shape is perfect, and they can be layered super easily *cough* transseasonal dressing sorted *cough*. After this, onto the scrunchie bandwagon I hopped. I was feeling cute, sassy, and sort of like a 7-year-old again. I loved it. I didn’t just stop at that—I added socks, hair clips and belts into the mix as well. I had completely updated and renewed my look, just by adding a couple of accessories that cost less than my morning coffee. Updating your lewk doesn’t have to cost a bomb—in fact, it’s infinitely more rewarding to give yourself a makeover when the items in question cost all of $6. The COH team know a thing or three about cost-effective accessorising, so we put together an edit for you of all our favourites (that aren’t going to cost you an arm or leg). You’re welcome! SCRUNCHIES  To be completely honest, I never stopped loving scrunchies. I just feel like there sudden shortage of them, really. Nevertheless, they are back in full force! Slipsilk has made the dreamiest scrunchies made to protect your hair, not breaking and damaging it as other hair ties do. And they’re 100% silk. So carpe the diem, and grab yourself a different colour for every day of the week. RIBBONS  I still save the gift wrapping ribbons that stores like Miu Miu use to wrap my purchases till this day. Every time. I collect them and tie them onto my ponytail as a bow! Is that so wrong? If it is, then I don’t want to be right. This small, ~chic~ act takes me back to primary school days when I was young, carefree and couldn’t afford to buy my own hair ribbons, anyway. Black and white polkadot are my all time fave—so hip, so kewl. If you’re after a cost-effective way to incorporate this projected trend into your everyday life, hit up your nearest arts and crafts store (like Spotlight here in Australia), or jump on Amazon and have a look at their wares. HAIR CLIPS Hair clips are my favourites; I literally go W-I-L-D with them. Some days I’ll wear four clips on either side, other days I’ll just add one. Variety! I tend to go towards the more vibrant kind—I’m talking sparkles, patterns and shapes (I have a really cute heart shaped one from chinatown, I die every time I wear it—it’s so adorbs). I honestly recommend just popping into your local drug store or bargain store for a cute and cheap selection. If you’re looking for a more regal way to incorporate the trend into your life, this heavenly clip should do the trick.  STRING NET BAGS These bad boys have taken the werld by storm. It makes sense because they are practically free, are reminiscent of cute sunny days spent at the farmer’s markets and are the only ~It-bag~ that won’t make your bank account cry. In fact, these ones only cost $6, so why not buy one in every single colour?                         LIP GLOSS Lip gloss makes you feel sassy. Period. I tend to use it most when I don’t have the time or patience for eye make-up. I’ll apply a shiny or coloured gloss, and I’m good to go! Rihanna’s’ new line, Fenty Beauty, honestly has blown me away. Yeah, RiRi. The Universal Gloss makes me feel like I am J-lo, starring in my very own film clip in the 90s, and I am so about it. I also love these NARS Satin Lip Pencil’s for when I’m feeling extra G-L-A-M. Retouching and reapplying is 10x easier when it’s in gloss form, duh.  SOCKS I never really cared for what kind of socks I was wearing, that was until I saw my friend rocking a pair of these SOCC bad boys. Super cute with a pair of sneakers, or even peeping out above a pair of boots or Mary Janes. You heard it here first.                          Words, @jaikaldor The post Cute (And Co$t-Effective) Trends To Get On Board With RN appeared first on CHRONICLES OF HER. Maddy Woon
