Marie Claire's edit of the best things to buy, browse and book
Allow us to introduce: hot list. Whether it’s some much-needed pampering, a quick interiors update, a cool event to book tickets for or a wardrobe refresh, here’s Marie Claire’s edit of the best ways to indulge.
Here at Marie Claire HQ we’re constantly seeking out secret sales, new brands, fun events, exclusive beauty treatments and cool coffee table books. We also love updating our home with a cool new piece of pottery, art or a delicious new candle.
We’ve rounded-up all the coolest things to do, see and buy this week. There are new store openings, new fashion brands, A-list collaborations, grooming updates and generally gorgeous and useful things to know so that your downtime is as stylish as you are.
This week we’re heading to… Selfridges for the CHANEL FACTORY 5 launch:
Like all the biggest single-name icons (Mariah, Beyoncé, Cher…) CHANEL subscribe to the ‘more is more’ school of thought, so when they do a ‘thing’ they really do ‘a thing’. Case in point: the new CHANEL FACTORY 5 pop-up at Selfridges, London.
To celebrate the centenary of the iconic N°5 fragrance, the House of CHANEL has created a new, limited edition, 17-piece collection that is housed in a specially created immersive pop-up space, offering you the chance to go inside the CHANEL factory – albeit a gloriously fun factory, that swaps blue hair nets and plastics gloves for CHANEL robots and mad scientists – and see the brand like never before.
“By taking popular consumer items out of their context and dressing them up in the aesthetics of N°5, we return to CHANEL’s first creative gesture: that of transforming a functional object into a desirable luxury item. That’s what CHANEL FACTORY 5 is all about: offering the experience of luxury in everyday life”, explains Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Chanel’s Head of Global Creative Resources Fragrance and Beauty.
So what does that translate to in terms of the product offering? Think reimagined household classics, like bath tablets in a tea tin and shower gel housed in a washing up liquid bottle… yes, your house is about to become a lot more chic and a lot more CHANEL.
Find the CHANEL FACTORY 5 at the Selfridges Corner Shop, 400 Oxford Street, London W1C 1JS from 10am – 9pm (until July 31st). Our tip? Head there early, for the CHANEL stock doesn’t hang about in the pop-up for long. And once it’s gone, it’s gone…
